Yakuza: Like a Dragon

Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio are far from done with the Yakuza franchise. Yakuza Like A Dragon, which is generally referred to as Yakuza 7, had a reveal event last month that officially reveal what the new entry entails, and the biggest surprise that came out of it, was the new turn-based RPG battle system After Tokyo Game Show 2019. We’ve now had an in depth look at gameplay along with a beefy six-minute English localization advertising trailer.

Overview

Yakuza: Like a Dragon, also known as Yakuza 7 and formerly known as Shin Ry? ga Gotoku , is an upcoming role-playing game  for the PlayStation 4.

It is being expanded by-Ryu ga Gotoku Studio-as the eighth main department (fourteenth entirely) of the Yakuza series. It will be published in Japan on January 16, 2020 and is scheduled for a worldwide release in 2020.

Over the last past 13 years, Yakuza has established a signature blend of wholehearted melodrama and comedic frivolity that has won over plenty of hearts. And judging of the story and gameplay trailers we’ve seen so far, Yakuza: Like A Dragon is trying to carry on that custom. We now pursue the story of Kasuga Ichiban, who’s kind of a reverse Kiryu (I mean, look at his suit). But Ichiban will have his own unrivaled tale through Japan’s criminal nether world and we’re here to break that down based on what we know as yet.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon (it localizes name) launches in Japan for the West on January 16, 2020 and later in 2020. interesting fact is that if you didn’t know already: Ryu Ga Gotoku–the developer’s namesake and the Japanese name for the Yakuza games–translates to “Like A Dragon.”

Kasuga Ichiban is Our New advocator

Yakuza: Like A Dragon will be a new start for the series as we pace into the shoes of newcomer Kasuga Ichiban. That doesn’t mean the new game is completely separate from prior lore; Ichiban was a part of the familiar Tojo Clan following the Arakawa Family. Thus, Ichiban’s story begins in Kamurocho, the long-time home of the Yakuza enfranchises but it seems that we won’t be there for long time.

Plot

In 2001, a captain from the Arakawa family, which is called Jo, killed someone from a competitor’s tribe. 24-year-old young man, Arakawa Family, Ichiban Kasuga is implored by his patriarch, Masumi Arakawa, to incarcerate for a murder committed by a different person. he thought that this is his opportunity to become a Tojo Clan champion, and admit it. However, when he is released after eighteen years in 2019, he appears to find that no-one remembers him.

An 18 Year Sacrifice for Nothing

nonetheless, something was wrong when he gets free. he was waiting to be greeted by his fellow yakuza family members, Ichiban came back to the free world all alone. when he walks out the prison door, he bends and exclaims his excitation to come back but nobody is there except an old lady crossing the street who at least recognizes him. It’s weird because Ichiban mentions having received letters from the boss he was while lock up, that means for him the family would be there for him.

Kasuga find out that he has to go to Kamurocho, where he can find his former patriarch. When he surrounds with Arakawa, Arakawa shoots him. Some days later, Kasuga wakes up underneath a mass of garbage with a crudely-stitched-up sore in his chest. The first person that he sees it was a man with glasses, who tells him that he is in Isezaki Ijincho, Yokohama.

It’s not a Yakuza Game Without infidelity

Curious about why none of his friends were not around, take him starts to find out the truth. He finally, finds Arakawa after all this time, now older with gray hair, but it’s not the reunion he wanted or expected. Arakawa points a gun at Ichiban and said that he needs Ichiban to take a shot for him and die. Ichiban was shot and betray by his tutor and father figure. This is balance for the course in Yakuza’s brand of drama and it’s only the beginning for Ichiban’s story.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon Quest

Not only is Ichiban a Dragon Quest fan by himself, but also Yakuza 7 will, in some ways, accurately play like Dragon Quest. It was the most singular aspect of the initial reveal contemplation but it has always been an action-brawler type of game. If we take flash back to April this year, it turns out that the team’s April fool’s joke, it wasn’t joke at all.

Fights can poke up in series tradition by running into adversary goons on the street; then the game will switch over to an RPG battle system where you attack by rendering party members commands when their turn comes-up. You’ll have HP, MP, essential damage, and a number of attacks that it can do different things like AOE detriment or knockback. It be revealed that you can navigate the arena during battle with some attacks accounting for your position and environmental effects hell, you see a hostile get knocked into traffic and run through over.
