Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II

The next dark fantasy, Action-adventure, Hack and slash game entry in the Hellblade franchise from developer Ninja Theory will be the Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. Ninja Theory hasn’t announced a release date yet, but it might be in late 2020.

– Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II was shown by Microsoft in The Game Awards 2019 with a trailer. Surprisingly, the game was built completely in-engine for the upcoming Xbox Series X. so Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is one of the first game confirmed for upcoming Xbox Series X.

– There’s not much to say about the upcoming game, because nothing much has been released. As it could be seen in the trailer the protagonist is Senua again, with a painted face and a menacing chant. Senua is a Pict warrior from a Celtic-speaking tribe in the 8th century, in a place which is now eastern and northern Scotland. After years of problems with her father, Senua fall in love with a man from another village – called Dillon. She left home to live with him. After some events, Vikings slaughtered the entire village and killed her love as a sacrifice to their god. She decided to go to Helheim – Viking’s hell – to confront the underworld goddess – Hela – and defeat otherworldly entities to retrieve the soul of Dillon.

– Senua is plagued by her own inner darkness and suffers from the condition – which she believes is a curse. She hears voices in her head known as “Furies”, and some visions from her past. As the main part of the game, Suna must battle these phantasms to continue her quest.

In order To represent the Senua’s psychosis perfectly, Ninja Theory worked closely with neuroscientists, mental health specialists, and people with the same conditions.
