About this game

Minecraft will start with the first-person perspective by default, but you can choose a third-person perspective too.

Setting

The world is divided into biomes ranging from deserts to jungles and snowfields. You will see plains, mountains, forests, caves, and various lava/water bodies. A full day-night cycle (each cycle take 20 minutes to complete) the game’s world shapes from blocks – rough 3D objects that are mainly cubes and fluids – these blocks are made from dirt, stone, ores, tree trunks, water, and lava. And Minecraft is about “mine” the blocks and then placing them elsewhere to build things.

Characters

New players will randomly be Steve or Alex – two selected default character skin. But since 2010 players can create custom skins.
You will face various non-player characters known as mobs. Mobs could be animals, villagers, and hostile creatures. Hunt Cows, pigs, and chickens for food and crafting materials. The game also includes hostile mobs (such as large spiders, skeletons, and zombies) during nightt or in the dark places. There are other unique creatures in Minecraft including creeper (an exploding creature that sneaks up on the player) and the enderman (a creature with the ability to teleport, pick up, and place blocks).

* No specific goals to accomplish which give players freedom in choosing how to play the game

Modes

Minecraft includes five game modes

1. Survival mode

Gather unlimited natural resources such as wood and stone from the environment for build and craft your world’s block and items and for maintaining health.
Pay attention to your health bar and hunger bar. The health bar will be affected by monster’s attacks, falls, drowning, suffocation, starvation, and other events. And the hunger bar will be refiled by eating in-game food.

You can also fight with computer-controlled enemy in the survival mode. Depending on the difficulty, monsters spawn in darker areas outside a certain radius of the character, requiring players to build a shelter at night. Cooperate with or compete against other players in the same world.

Craft a wide variety of items including armor (for mitigating damage from attacks), weapons (such as swords for killing monsters and animals more easily) and tools (for blocks more quickly). But do not forget that the in-game inventory system allows players to carry a limited number of items. You can construct furnaces for cooking and crafting new materials and also trade goods with NPCs.

2. Creative mode

If you can dream it, you can build it. Put your imagination and limitless resources to work with Creative Mode.  The aim of this mode is to build and creating projects of any size without disturbance. Have access to all resources and items in the game through the inventory menu and place or remove them instantly. Enjoy flying freely around the game world at will without any damage or feeling of hunger.

3. Adventure mode

This mode is specifically designed for experiencing user-crafted custom maps and adventures. The Gameplay is similar to survival mode but with restrictions. These restrictions can be applied by the creator.

4. Spectator mode

This game mode can only be accessed within the Java or PC edition. Enjoy flying through blocks and watch gameplay without directly interacting. Note that you only can teleport to other players and view from the perspective of another player or creature and you will not have an inventory.

Multiplayer

Enjoy playing or fight (through PvP combat ) with your friends through direct game-to-game multiplayer, LAN play, local split-screen, and servers. You can interact and communicate with others in a single world. Play with up to four players in split-screen, or invite hundreds of friends to a massive gameplay server.
