Setting

Sucker Punch’s new game moves away from the industrial cities and is set in Feudal Japan on Tsushima Island in the late 13th century. This island features different kinds of regions and buildings, such as the countryside, fields, shrines, ancient forests, villages, farms, mountains, etc.

The game happens during the first Mongol invasion. Since the armies of the Mongol Empire have some unknown powerful weapons, they destroyed many countries before and Tsushima Island is the only thing that keeps them away from Japan. The island is destroyed by the first attack, the samurai forces were easily defeated, and Jin is one of the last surviving samurai warriors. He vowed to do anything, at any cost, to protect his people. And if there’s something he learned from the defeat, it’s the fact that the way he was trained to fight is useless against such a powerful enemy.

It’s time for him to fight and protect his homeland. But he must put aside the samurai traditions and learn new tactics and strategies to win. Jin must break away from tradition, become a Ghost, seek guidance of old friends, and the support of new allies in order to protect what’s left of his home.
