About This Game
Lightmatter is the first commercial game of the Tunnel Vision Games Company (based in Denmark) and it was released on January 15th, 2020. You are able to play a free demo for experiencing the game.
Plot
You have been personally invited to the new world by the inventor and the CEO of the Lightmatter Technologies – Virgil. This whole company is the greatest breakthrough in renewable energy since the sun was born. But there’s one tiny problem! while creating an incredible new source of energy Virgil also has created shadows that apparently eat people.
This invitation includes an hour tour, ten second glance at the launch of Lightmatter, as well as five seconds of eye contact with Virgil. Want more? Then invest for a much longer tour and more time. Since you enter the company the head of security – called James – will accompany you.
Setting
You’re trapped in some kind of experimental facility and you need to follow the guidance of a mad scientist to manipulate light sources to get from a point to another in order to escape, mostly because flesh-eating shadows are chasing you and waiting for you right before the exits. If you were a fan of Antichamber, The Talos Principle, Manifold Garden, or Portal you will love this one.
– For the first time in history, the puzzle and the story are matched perfectly together. You must navigate through levels and solve puzzles that get more complicated with each passing level. Each and Every new room is a different challenge and comes with a unique story as well.
– The famous, Fan favorite, David Bateson leads as the antagonist – Virgil – who you may be more familiar with as the Hitman series’ Agent 47.
– Attractive aesthetic with a thick-lined, high-contrast animation style that is highly suitable and smooth. Everything is clearly defined in bold solid colors (mostly blues and blacks) and the player movement is beautifully designed.
